Your Portrait session

What to wear...

Also, the clothing should be a reflection of who you are - you won't like the picture if you are wearing something you wouldn't normally wear.

For family shots, please avoid having each person wear the same shirt from Old Navy (or any other great store!)... Do find clothes that are in the same color range (shades of blue, all pastels, black and gray, all white, etc...) that have different styles and textures (try combinations of corduroy, twill, cotton, knit, sweaters, or velour, etc.). Plain shirts look great, but those with small plaid, very small stripe, or small floral prints make for aesthetically pleasing photos.

Try to avoid a big appliquéd flower or truck, or a big logo on the front of your child's shirt. This tends to distract from the simple beauty of their innocent faces.

What to expect...

Sessions typically take 30 minutes to an hour and a half (for newborns), depending on the cooperation of all the children involved. We will do two or three different poses of the entire group and will also take individual shots of your children.

In studio:

You will come to my home and most likely be greeted by a few of my kids! I will lead you to my garage-studio where we will get everyone settled on one of three backgrounds (black, white, or brown). You will have full access to a bedroom or bathroom to change in, or a comfy couch to feed/change your baby if needed.

Viewing Proofs:

The proofs from your portrait session will be ready for viewing online at www.fairbanksphotography.com/proofs 24-72 hours after the sitting. Your gallery will be password protected with a pre-determined password that we agree upon. My "favorites" will be on the first page of the gallery - they will be cropped and color-corrected or changed to black and white or sepia. The rest of the images that you see are not color-corrected or cropped, but will be perfected if you choose that image!
